Note the gantry suspended from the roof above the lathe.
This is the only way the 8.9 metre posts can be moved into and out of the lathe. The almost 1 tonne lump of West Australian Jarrah is loaded onto the lathe using a couple of 20 ton block and tackles that are suspended from the overhead gantry.
