The Central Victorian School of Woodcrafts has been in continuous operation since 1986 teaching adult students the fundamentals of: woodcarving, woodturning, general woodwork, French polishing, furniture restoration, decorative finishing, harp making, marimba making, tool sharpening and almost anything else you can imagine to do with woodcrafts and allied trades.

Until mid 1997 the school ran with class sizes of between 6 & 10 students doing 20 hours over a period of 8 weeks, with day and evening classes running throughout the week. We also ran up to 12 weekend workshops of 14 hours duration per 8 week term.

Restructured courses

We have recently restructured our classes and are now running one on one private classes for a periods of between 2 and 20 days. The 2 day courses are for the average person who wants to give themself a lead-in, to woodwork as a hobby or wants to hone their skills in a specific form of woodwork like carving, turning or finishing, etc..

The 20 day courses are intensive one on one training course for people who have, or are just about to retire from work, for people who take a package from work and for those who need re-training especially if they have a view to beginning their own small business.

We structure the courses to meet your own special needs.

Because most of our classes are one on one we can now offer a course that is structured to meet your individual needs. You will not have to compete for the attention of the tutor with a dozen others nor will you be working on something that is completely irrelevant to your personal needs.

Above all else we pride ourselves in being able to make your learning experience a most memorable and fun one!
